HERE'S MY STORY
As I said, I consider myself an artist, a geek, and a bit of an adventurer. Born and raised in Maine, I grew up loving the outdoors. I got my first taste of city life when I moved to Boston to attend the New England Institute of Art for a degree in Television Broadcasting. I worked as a post production artist and production assistant in film and TV for several years afterwards, which led to my inevitable move to Los Angeles. During that time, I also worked for Apple and my time there instilled the undeniable importance of vision and values in a brand. As Mike Markkula, angel investor for Apple, once said, "A great company must be able to impute its values from the first impression it makes." The ability to visually communicate these values is the essence of great design.
After a few years in Los Angeles, I moved back home to Maine where I went on to work as a marketing coordinator as well as a writer and photographer for Eater.com. Creating print ads as part of my marketing role ignited a passion for creativity and design that I just needed to explore further.
I currently reside in Melbourne, Australia and am working towards a Bachelors of Communication in Advertising at RMIT University. As a wanderer at heart, I enjoy traveling - often without any plans. Which may help explain my self-portrait above, inspired by Caspar David Friedrich's classic romantic oil painting Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog.
I also currently work as an artist and designer, selling prints online. If you'd like to see some of my work beyond my portfolio, Please take a look at my online print shop, Good Evening Moonshine...
